At TxDOT, we spend a lot of time and money trying to keep water out of our roadways. We use operations like edge seal, seal coat, and hot mixing to waterproof a roadway's surface, which will help prolong the life of the pavement. When I started this podcast program two years ago, we were in the middle of a multi-year drought. When I conducted the following interview with Mike Reagan, the Tyler District's Maintenance Superintendent, it was one of my first for the podcast. Since it's been raining recently, and it looks like it could continue, I thought I'd let Mr. Reagan help us take a look back at 2006, and how the dry weather was affecting us then. Also this week in the Tyler District, a quick look at some planned lane-closure locations.
