As gasoline prices continue to reach all-time highs, many of us are reevaluating our finances, especially as they relate to our driving habits. Some of us are considering carpooling, and combining several errands into one trip. Still others are using public transit options more and more frequently. That's music to our ears at TxDOT, where we play a big role in making sure that public transit through agencies such as the East Texas Council of Governments, or ETCOG, keeps rolling. To find out more, I spoke with Roxanne McKinley, ETCOG's Director of Transportation. Get more information about ETCOG's Rural Transit operations at 1-800-590-3371. Also this week in the Tyler District: SH 19 is set for Resurfacing in Henderson County; Work begins Monday on SH 19 and US 84 in Palestine; Pavement rehabilitation work continues on FM 756 or Paluxy Drive in Tyler; and TxDOT sets an incentive for work at Troup and the Loop. **Finally, announcing the Tyler District Blog.
